This meetup is designed to help you think through some preliminary questions to uncover your passions and skills important in identifying your dream job. Your past and present hold key clues to your future. Through interactive exercises, we will break down this overwhelming task of self-discovery, endless options and have you walk away with some action steps in your dream direction.

Marlene Scherer Stern
Higher Education Consultant, Trainer and Advocate

Marlene recently retired from Stanford BEAM, Career Education, where she served as an Associate Director and Assistant Dean. She has over 25 years of experience working in Career Development serving in a diversity of roles and institutions where she is known for her creative approach. These roles include cooperative education, career counseling and networking and mentoring programs. As a higher education consultant, she works with universities to support their career development efforts and most recently was selected to serve as one of the Faculty Trainers for NACE’s (National Association of College and Employers) Career Coaching Intensive.

Marlene is passionate about working with students and alumni to better understand themselves, and how they connect to the world of work. A few of the signature programs co-designed by Marlene include the creation of a student alumni mentoring program, the Stanford Immersion in Medicine Series Program and Shadowing Alumni in the Real World. Marlene holds an M.Ed in Higher Education from Michigan State University and a BA from UC Davis.
