Professional Writers of Austin (PWA) is a free, members-only networking group for professional and aspiring writers.

Our Mission

Develop a supportive and informative community for Austin’s writers, editors, and interactive content creators.

Goals

Provide opportunities for Austin’s discrete journalistic, literary, and new media content-creating community to meet, share resources and job tips, improve career skills, and form lifelong bonds with like-minded people.

Members

We represent individuals from such industries as magazine, newspaper, book publishing, television, film, radio, online media, gaming, advertising, and public relations.

Founders

PWA founder Riki Markowitz has worked as a researcher, editor, fact checker, writer and reporter. She currently contributes to a variety of websites and magazines. Contact Riki at Riki@ProfessionalWritersofAustin.com.
