Because if you are a moral and honest man, you might wish to join us. To that end, we offer ourselves in an open and friendly manner so that you can know something about us.
But...We're not searching for members who demonstrate their charity with open checkbooks; instead, we need members ready to roll up their sleeves and work as a team for the betterment of all mankind.
Masonry makes good men better. Through association with their fellow members, men with a high regard for honesty, integrity, brotherly love, and the pursuit of truth, they truly become better men.
Who Are We?
Progress Lodge is a lodge of the Utah Free and Accepted Masons. We have over 100 dues-paying members. Our lodge was chartered by the Grand Lodge of Utah on April 27, 1920. Many of our early members worked for the railroads in the heyday of railroad transportation. That explains our railroad tracks disappearing into the light. Many of our early members have passed on to the final degree of Freemasonry.
Like any thriving organization, we are always seeking new members. We invite you to download a petition. Look it over, give it some thought. If you really want to make a positive change in your life and develop real friendships, Freemasonry can help you realize that goal. Your first step in Freemasonry is amazingly simple: you simply ask. We say 2Be1Ask1.
What Are We Here To Do?
We are here to learn Friendship, Morality, and Brotherly Love.
When Do We Meet?
1st Monday of the month, September through June, 7:00 PM, Egyptian Room, Salt Lake Masonic Temple, 650 E. South Temple, Salt Lake City, UT.
If your lodge meets on a "tough night for meetings," think about joining us. Monday's are best!
Some Aspects of Freemasonry
Brotherly Love In Freemasonry, how a man chooses to practice his personal religious beliefs is left up to him. Freemasonry recognizes and emphasizes the strong bond which unites all peoples under one creator. Freemasons come from a wide range of religious backgrounds throughout the world, but each Freemason shares a commitment to a universal God.
Freemasons provide relief to those in need out of their strong bond of brotherly love. Freemasons are quick to offer a helping hand, providing much assistance to worthy charities; and are attentive to the needs of widows and orphans.
Freemasons commit to be honest and truthful with other people. A Freemason is faithful to his responsibilities to God, his country, his family, his fellow man and to his moral self. As a Freemason, he is always searching for wisdom and understanding ... to grow constantly to be a better person.
