Assalam-alekum (Peace)
GOALS
** To encourage American Muslim engagement in the greater American society.
** To explore true and pure Islamic values of fellowship and peace, regardless of religion, sect or ethnicity.
** To help non-muslims or new muslims gain knowledge about American Islamic culture through discussion and dialogue.
** To foster a community of support among those sharing these values.
These goals will be addressed via discussions within religion and scripture, art and music, culinary and cultural events, and scientific and educational discourse pertaining to Islam and muslims. The group is not exclusive and invites muslims and non-muslim supporters to join us in building bridges between anyone who seeks guidance from the Creator and is in the quest for spiritual growth.
WHAT IS PROGRESSIVE MUSLIM
It means different things to different people, and we are not affiliated to any group. The most common definitions would include - advancing, improving, enhancing, promoting....a process towards improved conditions, or actively favoring or striving for progress towards improved conditions". Please note - although we are progressive, and like to have fun, the Group subscribes to core Islamic values.
