We started early in 2007 as a group of supporters working to get Barack Obama elected President of the United States. We succeeded...and now we have morphed into a group of Progressives who are letting our President know what We, the People, want him to do to benefit America and the world.

We are determined and activist citizens, voters, who strive to be educated in public policy issues and want to affect true change to benefit the populace, not the highest level of the wealthy. We believe in a strong middle class and we are united to protect the Constitution and the people. We believe in universal health care, job creation and job preservation, preserving the environment, banking regulations, enriched public schools, negotiated peace not wars, a sound economy based on fairness to workers.

We welcome you to join us in acting for the benefit of the public good.

Ellen, organizer

“Howard Zinn (1922 ? 2010) a highly distinguished American historian, author, activist, playwright, intellectual and Professor; wrote more than 20 books, including his best-selling and influential ?A People's History of the United States.?I learned of Professor Zinn?s passing because I was planning to attend an event he was scheduled to speak at on Feb. 4 at the Santa Monica Museum of Art titled "A Collection of Ideas . . . the People Speak".”

“Professor Zinn redefined the historical significance of working-class people including women and people of color as agents of political change that was reserved exclusively for powerful white males, inspiring entire generations of students. ?A People's History of the United States? shattered many oppressive myths and provided the knowledge of history as a tool of empowerment to people written out of or mendaciously misrepresented in our standard revisionist history texts of the past.”
