Accent Reduction: English Pronunciation of Vowels at Portland Community College

This is a great community education class I teach for Portland Community College (PCC). I only teach this class once a term. The class is from 6:00 PM - 8:50 PM on a Thursday evening and held on the Willow Creek campus in Hillsboro. This class focuses on correct pronunciation of the vowel sounds of American English. You will learn how to pronounce vowels used in English through tongue movement, lip placement, and mouth opening; how to make stressed and weak vowel sounds; and how to "hear" all the vowel sounds of American English. By the end of the class you will have a much better ability to both hear and pronounce the vowel sounds that we use when speaking English!
