In case you're not familiar with David Young (or even if you are), here's his bio:

David Young was appointed Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the company in January 2006, having been Chief Executive of our former sister company, Time Warner Book Group UK since 2000. He joined the company as Managing Director of Little, Brown & Company UK (as it was then called) in 1996.

David began his career in publishing when he joined Thorsons, the Mind, Body and Spirit publisher, as Production Manager in 1970 and was named Managing Director in 1980. When HarperCollins acquired Thorsons in 1989, he was appointed to their board, and was named Divisional Managing Director of HarperCollins Trade division in 1993.

He was presented with the Gerry Davies Award for outstanding contribution to the book trade by the Booksellers Association of Great Britain and Ireland in 2005, was Chairman of the Book Marketing Council from 1986-88, served on the Council of the Publishers Association (PA), was chair of the PA’s Trade Publishers Council and co-chair of the Publishers Association/Booksellers Association Liaison Group, was a board member of Book Industry Communications (BIC), was Chairman of BIC Supply Chain group from 2000-03, was Chairman of World Book Day 2004, and was on the Book Trade Lives Advisory Committee of the British Library’s National Life Story Collection. He is a member of the International Board of Hachette Livre. David has been a board member of the Association of American Publishers since 2005, was appointed Vice-Chairman in March 2009, and became Chair in March 2011 (a term which runs through 2013).

David was educated at Merchant Taylors’ School, Sandy Lodge, Hertfordshire and at the Watford College of Technology (Printing Management). He is married to the novelist Elizabeth Noble and has three children.
