WoodRat Hike

Details

Visitors often can see the woodrat’s nest from our trails. We'll take a 3 mile hike in search of the cone-shaped structure that reaches a height of four feet!

Woodrats, Packrats, and even "Trade-rats," are known for armoring their nests with stones, sticks, and cactus spines. They also bring home leaves, shiny things, bones, and other stuff to adorn their nest. Get your exercise and the details on these strange creatures. Dogs ok. Children welcome.
