Arroyo San Miguel Trail (Opened for Meetup only)

A hidden treasure in the hills, the Arroyo San Miguel trail is nearly 3 miles round-trip, and is an easy, relatively flat trail. Normally not open to the public but will be opened for this special hike. The trail starts in an area that has just recently been restored to native coastal sage scrub habitat, then follows the Arroyo San Miguel creek east through native chaparral and riparian habitat, and through an area that was recently burned in September 2010. It ends at the eastern boundary of the City of Whittier, where it meets La Habra Heights, in an area where over 40 acres of native habitat has been restored over the past decade. The trail extends east from Colima Road, just north of the Murphy Ranch baseball field. Please enter there, a hike leader will be opening the gate for the Meetup group only! No dogs : (.
