Holiday Deer Hike

Could you think of anything better than a deer sighting to get you into the holiday spirit? How about a relaxing hike to get away from the holiday madness?

This December come out to Preserve for a guided hike through the Deer Loop trail. Deer Loop is a lush(under 2 miles) easy loop. One of the trails unique features is a loop around a vast meadow that Mule Deer often enjoy grazing in! This Deer Loop hike will be guided in two levels; one ideal for a beginner, and another for the advanced hiker. Dogs ok. Light rain ok, rain cancels.

They opened it special for us because of the clear blue sky, sun and a lot of people had signed up as it was preplanned.

Hiking can be determined when you get there. Also the city may not open the gate to the parking area if it is unsafe, but we have to wait and see what happens. Pray for the best!

Hello, looks like its not going to rain until tonight! :) but it did rain overnight, I was wondering if we still hike through mud?

Pray for dry skies and I will also have my dog praying before she goes to bed for dry weather. :-)

I will need to bring my 8-year-old girl with me. Will this loop be difficult to her?

I clicked on the map, it's a big green space. Is there a parking lot to meet at?

Rita - go north on Colima Rd from Whittier Blvd. After the Mar Vista light start looking for some large trees on your left and you'll see a left-turn lane into the parking area. There's no signal or stop sign, though, just the turn lane. Also, it's just past the baseball field.
