Hello, and thanks for joining the Puget Sound QGIS User's Group (PSQGIS).

I'm Stu Smith, and I'm one of the folks getting this group off the ground.

This is the group's first meetup.com notice. It's also my first time with meetup, so please bear with me if I goof something up.

PSQGIS is intended to be a volunteer group whose members are interested in sharing their experiences with QGIS, as well as learning more about the software from others. Think of PSQGIS as open-source tech support!

All user levels are welcome. Myself, I'm very new to QGIS, so I'm looking forward to learning from this group, and to promote the open-source concept.

Our group will have its inaugural meeting on July 7, from 6 - 8 pm at the Shoreline Library (345 NE 175th St, Shoreline). We have reserved a room that holds up to 25 people. If possible, please bring a laptop. The library has wifi, which was recently upgraded.

I will send out an agenda soon. If you have ideas for the meeting (questions, QGIS how-to's, topics that you'd like to share, group structure...) please don't hesitate to respond. This group is yours to help design and carry forward.

We also have a website, http://psqgis.org/ ,thanks to the efforts of Clifford Snow and Peter Keum. Although the website is in its infancy, it has many possibilities ahead (a useful metaphor for our group, and for QGIS as well).

I look forward to meeting all of you!

Best regards,

Stu
