Hackathon...Build something awesome in 40 hours..

Hackathon is going to be a 40 hour event wherein individual or group can build something awesome. This time we have decided to have three different tracks for Hackathon.
a. Build something in cloud and Analytics
b. Choose a product idea from a collection of product ideas and build it.
c. Work on your own product idea.

Unlike in the past, this time we have extended the duration to 40 Hours so that teams will have time to validate the idea they are trying to build. We will also have a panel of mentors and tech consultants present at the event. Participants can interact with them for additional inputs.

I dont have any prior knowledge about hacking..but i wish to learn about it. Will there be any workshop for the new learners ??

    May 14

    • Gaurav S.

Hackathon is not related to hacking at all. The event is to develop something (your own product or from a list)

      May 14

    • Shirish P.

Well, not the commonly used meaning of "hacking", (misusing the system), but the original meaning of hacking, which is modifying something to suite for your needs.

Dear Shishir, 1. Does the idea or product must be a new concept and innovative. I need to develop a product, but similar products already exist in market. What I am looking for is that thru Hackathon, we can even make an improved product with better features than the existing products in market at low cost.

    2. How about the ownership of the prototype. Who has the rights to use and evolve the prototypes further.( sorry I am new to the meetup groups/events)

    May 13

    • Shishir V.

      1. You can build any product you like. 2. Team can decide to incubate the idea further if interested to turn that into proper product. We can suggest way forward.

  • Amrit M.

We will get topic on the spot or we need to come with the design of the app

    May 13

    • Shishir V.

You have both the options. Either Come prepared with product idea or you can choose one from a product library at the event.

      May 13

  • Amey A.

There will be any talks on multiple ongoing projects? Or just workshops? Thanks,
    Amey Abhyankar.

I am not that good at coding.just the basics which have been in my academic syllabus till now.Have many colleagues with the same problem. But i am very keen on learning and venturing more into the coding world. Is it ok if i still come?

    May 12

    • Jaydeep

No issue Siddhi. You can just join all of us. Meetups & hackathons are great place to meet new people and learn directly from them.

Feel free to bring in your friends/colleagues who are interested in application development.

  • Apurva A K.

    1. Is it important to have a prebuilt team to participate or one can join teams there and then?
    2. Is it important to Bring your own decvice?

    May 12

    • Jaydeep

      1. No. You can come over and built your project/product on your own. Alternatively, you can join other team on the go.
      2. Depends. If you are joining some other team and are comfortable working with their computer/device else bring your own.

      May 12

    • Shishir V.

      2. Bring your own device if you are going to code.

      May 12

  • Tushar S.

What are prerequisites to attend this event ?

    May 6

    • Shishir V.

No pre requisites. If you are a developer / coder / designer / tech enthusiast ready to work on a product, then you can attend..
