"If you remember the big jump WordPress did in 2011 and then in 2014, when international downloads surpassed English downloads, half of those international downloads were for Japanese.

Now imagine what impact languages like Chinese, Hindi (and other Indian languages) and other languages in countries where English is not a default language, can have.” – Petya Raykovska

From discussions & learnings from Japan, thanks to Naoko Takano, we wish to create a glossary and style-guide for Hindi.

In that sense, we wish to explore styleguides from other software translation projects and use generic national Hindi newspapers as a sort of standard for vocabulary and preferred words.

We wish to create strategies for standardising Hindi translations by taking relevant examples from other languages.

We wish to help out anyone willing to contribute to translations.

We wish to conduct sprints to push translations to 100%.

This event will be updated with more details and an exact agenda, as soon as they're available.
