PyDataLondon Celebratory First Meetup

This is the first meet-up since Europe's first PyData conference back in February (details here if you didn't attend: ). More details via Twitter:

Please RETWEET the first announce:

We're starting off with two great opening speakers and some lightning talks:

• Pete Passaro - From the algorithm to the visualisation: Creating full stack artificial intelligence and language processing platforms with Python -

• Emlyn Clay - Python as an alternative to MATLAB in life sciences; transliterating your experiments and interfacing hardware.

• Chipp Jansen - "Kinect and Stone" - auto-sculpting using Python and a Kinect scanner

• Ian Huston (Pivotal Labs Host) - "Introducing Pivotal's open source stack (including Redis)" -

• Jacqui Taylor “Mapping the Future” - taking Python to the next level for Data Visualisation and Web Science

• We'll end with a Community Update and then a trip to the pub - you can mention "We're hiring", "I have a new project" etc in this bit

We'll be meeting monthly at PivotalLabs, capacity is limited. You must unRSVP if you can't attend - if you RSVP a place but don't show then you'll go on the blocked list (we've got a limited capacity and we'll have too many people wanting to attend).

The Location is Bentima House next to the Masque Haunt pub, here's a Street View:

@Hugo - yes, this is just the first in a series.

@Giles - thanks for the slides! Other speakers - do you have slides/links/twitter accounts/whatever to share too please? Many thanks to Ian Huston and GoPivotal for hosting us and supplying the beer & pizza, it really helped our inaugral event run smoothly. Thanks also to everyone who came to the pub, may we do this many more times.

The PySide mailing list and the pytutor list would be good places to ask as well. Good luck (sorry, I'm a linux user)

Hi Cecilia I've already offered to Ian O one of our larger Tech City venues. If we can sort out when you are looking to run the next one I can look at what we have available
