PyLadies Monthly Meeting - Command Line & Git Intro
Hosted by PyLadies Boston
Details
First meetup actually using our computers! This month we'll be covering git and the command line interface. Git is the version control system that is used by many companies and GitHub. Knowledge of version control is practically a requirement for programmers and generally a good practice.
Knowledge of command line interface is also helpful on the job market. What is command line interface (CLI)? From Wikipedia: A command-line interface is a means of interacting with a computer program where the user (or client) issues commands to the program in the form of successive lines of text (command lines). Sounds fancy and super technical, right? Don't worry, it's actually a lot easier than it sounds and looks, and after this meeting, you should have a solid grasp of how to use the commands.
This meeting will definitely be aimed toward beginners, but still come if you're experienced! Extra help is always welcome.
