PyLadies Sprint : Chapter 2

We are planning to host a PyLadies Sprint on 15th March, 2015 at Red Hat, Pune (India) from 10:00 A:M.
It is a one day sprint on Open Source Python Projects for the ladies, by the ladies and to the ladies in technology through Open Source Way.

The main objective of this sprint is to start sending your patch to open source projects if you are new to open source and to provide a platform where you can start contributing to Open Source.

PyLadies Sprint Details:

AIM : Taking a step ahead towards contributing to Open Source using Python projects.

Schedule:

  1. Hands on Bug Triaging by Neeti Dahiya
  • learn how to squash bugs
  • pick a bug and triage it
  1. Git basics, and how to contribute Pull Requests to a project on Github by Dhriti Shikhar

  2. How to start contributing to any opensource project by Chandan Kumar

  • pick a project
  • choose a bug
  • triage it if untriaged
  • know fix
  • prepare fix
  • send commit

Requirements for the event :

  1. A Bugzilla account
  1. A FAS account
  1. A github account
  1. Laptop with linux, git, python installed
