Get Good with Git! Intro to Git Workshop!
Details
The Git Essentials:
You're using Git. But do you feel like you understand Git? And what the heck is the difference between Git and GitHub anyway?
This intro workshop is for women, and those that identify as a women. Emphatically trans- and queer-friendly.
In this intro-level workshop, we'll back it up a bit in order to explore Git from a conceptual level and wrap heads around it fully. Discover why version management, especially with Git, is really freakin' useful. You'll come away with an appreciation for some things about Git that seem weird or intimidating at first. Then, if there's time, we'll alter time, space, and the fabric of reality. Just a bit.
Novices and non-developers are welcome. No experience required with either Python or Git. (YAY!)
REQUIRED: pre-install Git on your laptop (http://git-scm.com/book/en/Getting-Started-Installing-Git).
Timeline:
6:00pm - Doors Open
6:30pm - Workshop begins (don't be late!)
8:30pm - Wrap up & Beauty sleep!
