Meet with other local people who are interested in Qi Gong, a health practice based on Traditional Chinese Medicine. At the meetup we will practice Qigong from 9:45-10:30 a.m. and then have an opportunity to visit after for questions and answers.
Qigong practice sessions (sometimes referred to as Chinese Yoga) combine
(1) easy, gentle movements for the body,
(2) visualization and imagery for the mind,
(3) meditation or quiet time for the spirit, and
(4) breathing practices for the body-mind-spirit connection.
The practices are very nurturing, gentle and healing. This form of qigong is called "soft" or internal qigong as opposed to "hard" qigong which is more like martial arts. We practice standing for 30 minutes and then sitting for 15 minutes. From these practices you’ll get practical, healing tools to use in your everyday life.
Location: Java Dive Cafe, 1607 Ranch Road 620 NORTH (between RR2222 and Hwy 71) on the patio. We practice outside as weather permits so dress according to the weather so you'll be comfortable. There is street noise from the highway so be prepared. You're invited to stay after class and visit over some great Java Dive coffee or tea!
You can view a short video of our class at:

I took this video Saturday, Oct. 25, and it is of a particular qigong form which is a movement and a poem combined. You can see how the movements are done slowly and are fairly easily.
Another video of the class can be found at

This video is several of the qigong movements but shortened for the video.
I hope these videos help you feel comfortable with Qigong and that you will try out a class!
We will practice different short forms of Qigong always starting with rotating the joints to loosen and enhance QI flow. 45 minutes. All practitioners are invited to stay after class for coffee/tea and chatting.
