Qt on Raspberry PI, hands-on step-by-step

The plan for February's meeting is to go through step-by-step on how to get Qt 5 running on the Raspberry PI. Also, some discussion about touch screens with them. All Raspberry PI Qt demos and projects welcome!

We'll start the semi-freeform agenda pretty sharply at 6:30, so you can arrive anytime after 6pm.

Intention is to walk through the steps required for getting Qt running on the PI, mainly installing the cross-compilation environment, compiling the libraries and setting up Qt Creator. We'll also aim to put up a pre-built package available for later download for your devices.

Bring your own Devices, let's set them up for awesomeness! The installation is going to be done on an Ubuntu, so setting up a real/virtual Linux might be a good idea if you want to replicate.

Hi all, thanks for joining us with a big crowd! The detailed instructions we created and used during the meetup can be found here:

We're still looking for a possibility to have the pre-built image available, I don't know personally what's the case with that.

Sorry, something came up with the kids. Will there be any slides available?

Sorry, no. We're not using slides, but let's see if we can share the instruction set afterwards.

Allright, we've done some setup this week and it's looking good for tomorrow. In case you want to follow-up our instructions, you most likely want to have a real or at least virtual Ubuntu set up. Regardless, our intention is to have something pre-built available for you to use for your own boards.

Also, could you please double-check your RSVPs. We've had lots of no-shows in the past meetups--which is fine--but it helps with the refreshments/space requirements to have a more precise number. Hoping of course to see as many of you tomorrow as possible! :)

I have a RPi, but no screen yet to go with it. Should I bring it anyway?

Yeah, sure you can. Screen is not needed. However, we're going to go through the steps, but it might take slightly longer than the meetup time to finish all the compilations. We'll be delivering some instructions as well as a pre-built package to download after the meetup for the cross-compilation environment (+board).

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
