April Monthly Meeting - Jeff Newcomer to speak

The Quechee Area Camera Club is open to anyone who is interested in photography.  We are an active group and have monthly meetings (the 2nd Monday of each month).

For the April meeting we will have a presentation given by Jeff Newcomer. "Getting it Right in the Digital Camera" .
Mostly discussing how the advantages of digital photography and editing has changed what it means to get it right in the camera.

You can see some of his work and his blog at the following websites:

Our meetings are a great resource for everything related to photography.  We mention at each meeting up coming photography events in the Upper Valley - upcoming classes, photography exhibits, contests.

PLEASE NOTE: all of our monthly meetings are FRAGRANCE FREE - no perfumes, colognes or strong after shaves.  Thank you.

We hope you will join us at 6:30pm at the Quechee Club.

If you have any questions about the meeting or where the Quechee Club is located please call Lisa on her cell[masked] or send her an email (go to Lisa's profile and send an email)

Inspired by Jeff's presentation, I worked on my first RAW photos taken earlier this year, using "The Photoshop Darkroom" as a step-by-step guide to do some of the things that Jeff described. That book encourages one to make multiple exposure versions of the photos in Photoshop, if you didn't think to do it "in your camera".

Jeff--I greatly enjoyed your presentation. It was a very useful overview of how a photographer can make full use of Lightroom. It would help if you spoke a *little* more loudly, though, in a hall as large at the Quechee Club's--I could see some folks straining to hear you. (Really, we probably should mic presenters...)
Also, in reference to one of the things you were saying about Ansel Adams (dealing with extraneous elements in a scene) is this from Adam Schallau's blog:

What a wonderful resource in the Upper Valley! I look forward to meeting new friends who can teach me as I love photography but simply have no training! I am truly an amateur with an eye for beauty. Digtial SLR 90 but feeling that I'm a bit over my head with so much power but somehow I seem to take beautiful photos. The camera does all the work!
