Exotic sake tasting at Takara and board games at the Albatross in Berkeley

Lets try something exotic and go sake tasting in Berkeley. I know this great place called Takara sake where you can learn about the sake making process as well as taste a number of different sakes and even visit there sake museum this is definitely a level up from the sake you have tasted at the sushi bars. Afterwards we can get some awesome take out and even drink more at the albatross which provides board games and allows you to bring in food.

I will be in front of Takara sake wearing a red meetup badge.

please try to come at the designated time 3 pm for the sake tasting since if i get enough people I will be able to reserve a private room which is super VIP.  If you are interested in the sake tasting part it is 5 dollars which is inexpensive since  they are truly amazing and made directly on sight with flavors such as mango and lychee sake.

This was my first meet-up ever, and it was so fun! I had never had sake before. As it turns out, sake is like wine, but better. The museum has an exhibit of 19th-century sake-making tools, a tasting room, and a shop. During the tasting, a very passionate old Japanese man explained to us the different types of sake as we tasted them, and we tasted a huge variety -- some dry, some full, some sweet, some fruity. He told us how to pair sake with food. He told us where the flavors came from. Then at the end of the tasting he said that the sake industry was dying out because Japanese kids only like crappy fruity alcohol and think that sake is for old people. (Looking back, that may have been a sales pitch; it definitely convinced me to buy more sake.) I will be returning here for all my sake needs!!! And also going to more meet-ups.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
