This is an easy hiking/walking group that is actually for people who, for one reason or another, cannot or do not want to do macho hikes. I'm looking for members who have suggestions for where we can go, and want to get out on a fairly regular basis. Well behaved dogs on leashes would be welcome! Same goes for kids, though leashes not required.

Venues could cover the area from Ventura down into the Conejo Valley. I would like to walk, slowly, for 1 or 1.5 hours, but some MEETUPS, could, of course, be designed differently. Paths should be cleared and easily traversed by those have physical issues and/or walking sticks or just want to mosey along a lovely path. No steep or rocky up and downs. Please RSVP for our first meeting to get things going on June 14 at 11 AM.

Please agree that this is in NO WAY a networking group. Religious, political or business networking is inappropriate. There are many other Meet Up groups that serve these needs. If you are not comfortable with this agreement, this probably isn't the group for you.

Clearly, this group is designed to make hiking and walking easy for people who are not looking for demanding or strenuous hiking.  Nevertheless, if you sign up for any Honest and Truly Easy Hiking and Walking Meetup event, you are releasing Honest and Truly Easy Hiking and Walking Meetup Group and its organizers from all liability in case of injuries. Your personal safety depends on your own judgment and experience, and every participant takes full responsibility for their own actions.

Safety should be a priority for everyone in the group.

Each hike host is a volunteer, not a trained leader, and is not responsible for the group. Best to treat this MeetUp as hiking with a group of friends. All event participants are expected to be friendly and kind to those who may need help.

Anyone who becomes fatigued or unable to continue the hike for any reason should decide whether to rest and continue, or turn back.  Please advise the hike leader of your decision. If you need help returning to the starting point, ASK! Leaders will ask for volunteers to do this before each hike/walk begins.
