Coursera Machine Learning Discussion Group

Details
Ever wondered why Zillow misprices your home?
The short answer: limited data.
But for those who want to delve a little deeper, I offer you the Coursera Machine Learning Discussion Group. Feel free to join us on a weekly basis as we discuss the merits and pitfalls of Linear Regression, Clustering, Neural Networks and other data-mining techniques.
We will follow the Cousera’s Machine Learning course, which is based on Stanford’s aptly-titled class, Machine Learning. The info is here: https://www.coursera.org/course/ml . The course uses Matlab/Octave, but you just as easily do it with R, Python, or if you’re really game, C++. We plan to have a speaker or two to give a practical context to everything.
If you’re worried about technical prerequisites, don’t worry: we (or Khan Academy ) can get you up to speed. Hope to see you out there. If you have any questions, feel free to email me.
