exquisite corpse (giant edition)

Hey party people. I've been terrible at keeping up with this because it's been my last semester of graduate school and now I'm done. I've been promising members and fans I'd host another event before the New Year and the time has come!!!

My dear friend Patrick donated a massive "win, lose, or draw" drawing pad and suggested we do a giant edition of exquisite corpse. So that, folks, is what we are doing. We can still play whatever drawing games ya'll want at a more manageable size, but I'm thinking this might get silly (what? no...)

For those who are still thinking "Huh? What is this lady talking about?" Exquisite Corpse (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Exquisite_corpse) is a drawing game created in the 1910s by the members of the Dada movement (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dada). They sought out to destroy the standards set by the bourgeois, and boy did they! The game goes like this: fold a paper into thirds. One person draws a head on the top portion and then continues the neck or shoulder marks down a tiny bit into the middle section and then folds down the head and passes it to someone else. The second person draws the torso and the connecting lines to the third section and folds down their drawing. The third person draws the feet and then opens the drawing to see whatever hilarious, surprisingly cohesive, or down right weird creature was collaborated. Usually the papers are about 3"x8" but this round we'll be doing some 13"x34"!

MC will be serving us delicious libations to fuel our creations. We'll kick our drawing off with the tail end of happy hour (ends at 6:30) but bottles of wine are half off all night! And don't forget the full menu (http://xtrascafe.com/menu/) if you are hungry!

Event is free, donations accepted to keep these silly events happening!! Bring whatever drawing (or coloring) tools and paper you like (don't forget this is a restaurant so keep it relatively clean-no dry pastels or oil media please.) I'll be around 'til at least 10, but maybe longer.

Feel free to bring whomever you want. We'll start at the back table but no drink 'n' draw meetup has ever been contained...
