Monthly Meeting - Tiling Window Managers

The topic has come up more than once in our monthly meetings: using a tiling window manager in place of the usual desktop environments.

If you're unimpressed with the changes to Unity, Gnome, KDE, , then have a look at WMs. They're simpler, smaller, (usually) quite a bit faster. We'll take a look at the i3 WM, but bring along any information you might have about your own WM experiences.
