Meet, mingle and trade yarns with local crocheters. Have fun comparing patterns, sharing techniques and getting to know your community. Trade tips on stitches & techniques - make new friends! We will have teaching demonstrations at some meetings, work on service projects occasionally and we set aside some meetings to work on individual projects. All of our meetings are filled with chatting and good food! Come try us out. We welcome newcomers!
Although there are no "formal" dues for this group, we do pass around what is dubbed "The Quarter Jar" for you to drop a little change into to help defray the costs of the site, occasional door prizes and special project materials and activities we do at some of the meetings. I also ask that, out of respect for our sponsoring host meeting place, Panera Bread, that you purchase at least a drink. They also have great salads, sandwiches and baked goods. Many members have thier dinner and then join in with the crochet fun.
Oh...and how do you find us? Look for the ladies with the yarn and hooks! We usually meet in the center area of the restaurant. See you there!
In August of 2012 we are officially FIVE years old. Years of many new friends, new projects, various classes and yarn and pattern swaps! We have learned how to do everything from Broomstick Crochet, threadwork, giant granny square afghans, sachets, felting, Tunisian crochet, crocodile bags and so much more. We have held many beginner crochet workshops. Our service projects have spanned Special Olympics, Project Linus, Christmas comfort for a family who lost their home to fire, Love a Dog blankets, Baby hats and blankets for Interact, Afghans for our soldiers overseas, newborn hats for Rex and Wake among many others. And we have many more ideas for future meetings! As always we accomplish all of our individual projects for ourselves, family and friends between these special opportunities.
