Be a HEART WALK Volunteer!

Details
The American Heart Association's SANDHILLS HEART WALK will be on October 13, 2012 at the Festival Park on Rowan St cor. Ray Avenue, Fayetteville NC.
I know it is a bit of a drive (1 hr 10 mins) but WE DO NEED YOUR HELP!
Hundreds of people will be there to pledge their commitment to start a healthy lifestyle on that day by participating in the walk, so we want to create a memorable experience for everyone. Because of the size of the event, we would not be successful without the help of event day volunteers.
We need help in the areas of :
(PRE-EVENT)- promotions and publicity (help us spread the word online and by handing out fliers)
(EVENT DAY) Village Set up, Greeters, Sponsor Tent assistance, Route Marshalls, Photography, Water stations, Food booth, Registration, Cheerers, entertainment and clean up.
We have 3 shifts available: 7-930am, 9-11:30am, 11-1pm. Please be at the event site 15 minutes before your assigned time - proceed to the Volunteer Check in area, and wear comfortable shoes.
If you are available and interested to volunteer, please RSVP on this page and email us the following info to sandhillsheartwalk@heart.org : First and last name, email address, cellphone #, your chosen shift.
Thank you so much for your support of the American Heart Association!
Sincerely,
Sol Halliburton

Did you know that cardiovascular disease is the No. 1 killer of all Americans? In fact, someone dies from CVD every 38 seconds! Heart disease also kills more women than all forms of cancer combined. And congenital cardiovascular defects are the most common cause of infant death from birth defects.
You can help. When you join Heart Walk, you join more than a million people in 300 cities across America in taking a stand against heart disease and helping save lives!
The funds you raise in the Heart Walk will support projects like these:
Putting up-to-the-minute research into doctors’ handsso they can better prevent and treat heart disease among patients.
Groundbreaking pediatric heart and stroke research. About 36,000 babies are born with heart defects each year --research is the key to saving babies’ lives.
Getting life-saving information to those who need it most - information that can save a life, like how to eat better, how to recognize the warning signs of heart attack, and how to talk to a doctor about critical health choices.
