Dear NOVA Raw Food Meetup Group Members:
I've enjoyed serving as a co-organizer for the past 2 years and getting to know some of you.
I must step down at this time to focus on other endeavors. I plan on attending future meetings though because I believe that when we are in the minority, we gain a lot of benefits and support from interacting with each other.
My priority has been to plan and organize monthly potluck meetings. I hope that someone will volunteer to join Sandy and Tina as a co-organizer. Surely there is someone who can share their time and talent for the next year or two and commit to planning monthly meetings?! Don't worry, you can be new to raw and you don't need to be following a 100% raw diet to serve as co-organizer. You can make the potlucks as simple or as elaborate as you'd like, from finding speakers, having demonstrations, showing films, having a theme or simply securing a gathering place (which is what the original intent of meetups were - a bunch of like-minded people gathering together in a supportive group setting. Meetup was founded by a group of guys in NYC who wanted to get together based on a common interest in response to "911" in 2001).
Lately, we've been having the potlucks at Chantilly Library, with a yoga session beforehand. Yoga instructors Raji and Michael Tress are happy to continue offering monthly yoga for our group if we'd like.
There are many wonderful classes, activities and events offered through this meetup group. The raw community is alive and well and definitely growing. This group is only as strong as member involvement. If you prefer to sit back and take advantage of what this meetup group has to offer, but have leadership skills, time and the desire to volunteer, please make yourself known to Sandy or Tina! Let's not let the monthly potlucks go by the way-side simply because no one is planning them.
If you'd like to keep in touch with me, you are invited to do so through email: [address removed] or Facebook: Marriage Coach Lynn. I will be busy on some new writing projects, among other things. In fact, if you are married or looking for a valuable gift for a married couple on your holiday list, please check out my most recent book "Reenergize Your Marriage in 21 Days." It is available through www.smashwords.com in e-book format for under $10.00 - less than the cost of your almonds or favorite superfood!
I've enjoyed serving and participating in this group and hope to see you soon.
Wishing you great health and happiness,
Lynn M. Griesemer
