All Space Considered at Griffith Observatory

Griffith Observatory holds a FREE public program on the first Friday of every month in the Leonard Nimoy Event Horizon Theater. Join the Observatory's curatorial staff as they examine and explain the most-talked-about subjects in astronomy, physics, space science, and space exploration. Seating is first come, first served. I attend this program regularly. Real scientists discuss serious topics with a scientifically literate audience.

The program starts at 7:30 pm, but the line starts to form by 7:00 pm , and they run out of seats about half the time. (Late arrivals can watch the presentation on a wall-sized video in an adjacent area if all seats are taken.)

IMPORTANT: Parking at the Observatory on Friday nights can be problematical. The earlier you arrive, the less distance you will have to walk, as the overflow parking stretches farther and farther down the hill.

The Leonard Nimoy Event Horizon Theater is located on the next to lowest level of the Observatory. Keep taking the stairs down and you will get there.
