Friendly Chat (show up when you can)

This is our monthly meeting at which you can share your stories and hear stories from others who are just like you.

We don't allow preaching. This is about your personal journey and how you're living it.

We'll talk about mostly anything that is of a concern for you. We have a few basic topics, but we're not limited to the following:

  • How has religion hurt you?
  • How has religion hurt someone you love or is close to you?
  • How has your life improved since letting go of religion?

We encourage you to support the business at which we are meeting by purchasing something, but that's not required.

We hope to see you there!

Been at work all day and didn't have time to get my sign. Keep you eye put for my muggins here!

Again, we don't have any set agendas, but if you'd like me to do some research on something and bring it in, let me know and we can discuss that topic, specifically. We won't spend the entire time on it, but we'll spend a few minutes on it. I'm almost always available after the meetings, so we can keep talking after the meeting as time permits.

    Ok thanks Chris and Kristin.
I don't really have anything specific. Other than the feeling of hanging out in "limbo" if you'll excuse the religious term coming from a now atheist. For those of us who were once emeshed within our religious activities and studies, it gave us that directional compass of a sort, now removed.
Understanding if others are on the same page with somewhat similiar back grounds would help in determining which avenue the conversations may take I suppose, and whether or not I am able to effectively contribute.

We understand, and you're not alone in your loneliness. That's why this group is here, to help you figure that out. As far as contributing goes, that's up to you. You can do or say as much or as little as you feel. Take it at your own pace.

Hi Folks, I would like to ask what exactly the conversations are supposed to stem around when everyone meets? Is there a topic or something of specific interest for a group like recovering from religion that is agreed upon prior to meeting up? Thanks,

Hi Dana, it's pretty low key. Sometimes Bob or Chris has something on their mind they bring up to begin with, but then the conversation takes off in whatever direction. If there is something on your mind, feel free to bring it up when we meet, but don't feel like you need to "prepare" for it in any fashion. :)

What Kristin said ^. Our main themes focus on how has religion hurt you and how has or can your life improved without it. Is there something you'd like to talk about?
