This is our monthly meeting at which you can share your stories and hear stories from others who are just like you.

We don't allow preaching. This is about your personal journey and how you're living it.

We'll talk about mostly anything that is of a concern for you. We have a few basic topics, but we're not limited to the following:

  • How has religion hurt you?
  • How has religion hurt someone you love or is close to you?
  • How has your life improved since letting go of religion?

We encourage you to support the business at which we are meeting by purchasing something, but that's not required.

There is a parking structure behind the cafe with marked spaces. You can also park on Portland Street as well.

We hope to see you there!

I will be there. The make-believe world of my childhood was.."a zone in which I could release myself into song and dance, into whispering spirits and colors and imaginary explorations, a zone that kept me alive, that was my only source of spiritual sustenance, a zone that I carried within me and which I had to, was required to, keep hidden, buried, suppressed during the rest of the year as I sat day after day in my fixed wooden desk in each of my St. Monica School classrooms, classrooms dominated and controlled by rote recitation of spelling words and fixed answers to the questions of our Baltimore Catechisms. Who made us? God made us? Who is God? God is…… But what a sober lament. Is this the source of all? This God did not dance nor spin nor gracefully twirl around with arms outstretched. He did no pirhouettes. He did not kiss the breezes or hum songs with gentle dreamy eyes. He did not smile nor laugh." I need to recover from this God and celebrate beauty.

Sure! I'm game. Bob is working on an essay now about his experience with a fundamentalist Christian sect.
