Powerwheels Mod for ATL Makerfaire

We've got the need, the need for speed...

Yeah I know, full on cheese, but don't that the stop you from helping us mod our PowerWheels electric vehicles to reach a top speed of at least 25mph!

The T-Wrecks team also needs a full pit crew and two more drivers...we're probably going to give one position away to some lucky (valid driver's license carrying) Twitter user here within the next few weeks so stay tuned to @redmountainmake.

Our theme is Jurassic Park, so we also need maker/artisans to help paper mache a full sized velociraptor on roller skates that will perpetually chase the vehicle as we try to outrun it super dino-intelligence.  "Clever girl..."

Help us figure out the motors, battery situation, voltage regulators, fuse system and kill switch.

Meet up with us every Wednesday from 7 to 9 (or later) until the first week in October to knock this project out of the park.  We need your brains and creativity!

I may be. My schedule is pretty tight but if nothing else i can get you guys started. I have some experience in the area of dinosaurs! At four feet high that's not terribly big. It could have a PVC Substructure so you could remove the head and give it support and you could sandwich upholstery foam around it so the tail and arms would have a little joggle when you pull it. I can also maybe help with some graphics layup and vinyl for your jeep. So it looks like a real Jurassic Park MClass.

Nice! Any help you can give would be greatly appreciated. And the vinyl graphics would be incredible!!

I probably won't be a lot of help on the powerwheels, but I'm downsizing and I have a few tools and some radio stuff to give away. I'm planning to load it into my car Wed 9/3 and give away whatever folks would like.

Sure, we'd love to see what tools you're willing to donate

Hi Robb thanks for the tips. It's actually not worn by a person, just a 4ft high model on wheels being dragged behind the car by a latch like it's chasing the car. We want to make the head removable since they more than likely won't let us race with the whole dinosaur attached.

    Where is Masco?

BTW, I could really use some expertise on that part of the project, would you be around over the next 30 days to lend a little of your time?

This material can be purchased locally at Masco

So i wouldn't make your raptor out of Paper Mache. If this is something to be worn by someone upholstery foam will be best. It can easily be glued up with contact cement, carved and sculpted, lightweight and flexible. Are you planning on the Power Wheels pulling it or someone wearing it and running behind?

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
