I've been a Hacker/Maker/Geek for most of my life. I taught myself how to program from Elementary Electronics Magazine back in the 70's. Thirty-Five years later I'm a Self-Employed Software Engineer. I've worked on more hardware platforms than I care to admit and learned (and forgotten) a few languages in the process. Currently I'm designing and prototyping a low cost, open hardware, educational robotics platform. Look for it on Kickstarter soon. I'm also building a RepRap Prusa 3D printer and contemplating building a desktop CNC machine. I've never understood why everyone is so enamored with the Arduino when there are more powerful alternatives. Don't get me wrong, it's a good platform, but not exceptional. I'm interested in meeting others gearheads, so this sounds like a place they might be.
My name is Mark and I'm a Geek.
