Good morning everyone,

We've been talking about what we want and need for space information systems for a couple of months as we've been planning, sourcing insurance, planning our outreach, working on projects, and other parts of the space. At this point, we have a goal of start to offer reasonably organized technical and "how-to" classes in the fall. To do that (and to allow people both inside and outside the group to book and pay for them) we need an easy-to-use payment system. We also need to finish setting up databases for tracking member training on equipment, RFID access, the various inventories and ownership records now tracked in spreadsheets. And of, course, it would
be nice if we could integrate our wiki, which contains most of our documentation (safety, projects, organization) to date.

I'd like to propose a project to focus on getting this done over the next six weeks.

Our deadline - mid-August (ideally earlier!) when we need class sign-up and payment systems ready to roll. If we can get some software/information system develop people willing to commit to working on this, others within the group can focus on organizing and promoting initial classes for the fall. Our current operational model is to recover all of our operational expenses (rent, electricity, water) from our membership dues, while getting our growth funds (new equipment, renovations) from the space portion of class fees.

While I've been working away on various bits leading up to this, I'm a very newly minted junior programmer/developer, and while enthusiastic, need to work with _much_ more experienced people in order to see this through. :)

After an initial organizational meeting, I think that a fair amount of this can be done remotely as time allows. But we now need to get moving on this.
