Sparks In The Park

Sparks In The Park

Details

Hi all, as some of you know I'm now an organizer for the Horsham group and from time to time we will be merging some events. I've added an event on their group page and thought that after the success of the picnic I would open it up for us as well as it will give us another chance to get out in the open. The event is called Sparks in the park and looks like a great afternoon out for all the family. Anyway, below are some details of the event and if you fancy coming along it would be great to see you there.

Here are the full details from the website I found.

Horsham will be hosting a Summer Spectacular in Horsham Park - a free family event organised by Horsham District Council.

Final details and celebrity appearances are still to be confirmed but we can guarantee plenty of sporting fun, live music, dance, creative workshops, lots of mascot mayhem, circus skills and tasty refreshments.

Entry to Sparks In the Park is free. Below is a taster of what you can look forward to:

Active Play Zone
Younger children will enjoy the Active Play Zone including inflatable fun, soft play, clowing and magic whilst older children can look forward to the thrills provided by Bensons Fun Fair, trampolining fun, street comedy and the excitement of Zorbing!

Bensons Funfair will be open from Thursday 25 July through to late on Sunday 28 July.

Sports Zone
The Sports Zone is a major part of the event programme with Have-a-Go Sports for all to watch or to take part in including badminton, volleyball, football, karate, tennis, tri-golf and more, whilst the nearby Pavilions In The Park sports team will be offering special activities throughout the afternoon for both adults and children.

Look out for the ‘Set4Success (http://www.set4success.co.uk/)' team - a new Horsham District charity offering financial support to potential sporting champions of the future. They will be on hand throughout the afternoon providing information, competitions and have a go challenges.

Live Music and Dance
The Horsham District is fortunate to have a wide range of creative talent on offer. We have cherry-picked some of the best for you so that you can enjoy live music on the main stage all afternoon. The new Human Nature Garden in the Park will also be put to good use, showcasing its delightful small amphitheatre with free dance performances throughout the afternoon.

Comunity Participation
Take a stroll around the Park and have a chat with volunteers from several local visitor attractions and community groups offering displays, stalls and activities, including those from the Friends of Warnham Nature Reserve, The Holbrook Club, Horsham's Sunbeam Swimming Club for the Disabled, South Downs Orienteers and more. The Rotary Club of Horsham and other charities will also be on site providing traditional games and activities raising money for local good causes.

Stay Safe
For teenagers, local award-winning driving school, Stay Safe, who are sponsoring the event, will be offering a special driving experience for anyone over the age of 14. This driving experience will be a unique opportunity for young people to find out what it’s like behind the wheel of a real car, trying their hand at precision manoeuvres in a safe and controlled environment while discovering just how important it is to think and react quickly and sensibly while they’re in the driving seat.

Sparks in the Park is organised by Horsham District Council with free entry and free parking across the town centre. A donation to The Rotary Club of Horsham will be requested from those choosing to park in Horsham Park.

Although the event runs from twelve till five you can just come along as you please and I'll send out some contact details just before the event to all attendees so you will be able to find us. Also there are trains direct from Redhill every hour.
