Quantum mechanics software and general discussion

This will be a follow-up of last week's discussion, which was very successful. We obtained solutions of the Schrodinger equation using software Mike had written in Python, and I installed it on a portable computer I had brought to the meeting, with Ubuntu Linux as the operating system.

This is a scientific topic if there ever was one, so those who joined this list to discuss scientific subjects will, in my opinion, be missing out if they don't attend. However, discussion of other topics is also welcome, and the site of the meeting is a desirable place to eat, reasonably priced.
