What we’re about
***** PLEASE ADHERE TO ALL CURRENT CA AND NV STATE COVID-19 TRAVEL, GATHERINGS AND STAY-AT-HOME RESTRICTIONS *****
This group is for skiers and snowboarders of all ability levels to meet others who love to ski or ride. Our common interest is a passion for sking or boarding and our goal is simple… to get out on the snow and have FUN!
During the season we'll hold monthly meetings (mixers/happy hours), organize day & weekend trips, car-pool, etc. (and occasionally, a few trips out of the area; like Colorado, Whistler, etc). We'llalso partner with other ski clubs or Meetup groups for combined activities. Anyone who wants to assist with organizing an event or get-togethers at a particular area or resort is welcome to become an Assistant Organizer; just ping Clint. Ideally, we'll have Organizers for each Reno, North Shore, South Shore, West Shore & possibly Carson/Minden/Gardnerville.
Everyone is welcome; singles, couples, families; all ages; whether new to the area or a long-term Reno/Tahoe resident. Sign-up, watch for the meetup postings & get ready for another GREAT snow season in Tahoe with a bunch of new friends on the mountain!!
BTW, the main photo posted is Moglmasher... on a "PowderBumps" day on Gunbarrel. Two thumbs up!

Lake Como, a beautiful, glacially formed lake nestled in the foothills of the Alps, has attracted aristocrats and wealthy vacationers since Roman times. The lake is considered by some to be one of the most beautiful lakes in the world, and has many large and opulent villas and palaces on its shores. It is, and has always been, a very touristic area, especially the famous towns of Bellagio, Varenna, and Como. The vast majority of tourists visit these towns and tend to leave in the shade all the rest of the little towns and villages that developed on the lake coast and in the adjacent valleys.
The Lombardy region of Italy produces some excellent wines, and we will have a chance to try many wines and even visit a winery in the steep Valtellina area, where the Nebbiolo grape makes robust and intense wines. The areas around Lake Como are famous for Bresaola (cured, air-dried beef), fish from the lake (including perch, lavarello, pike, shad (missoltino), and eel), cheeses such as Taleggio, Gorgonzola, Quartirolo, and Bitto, polenta, risotto, and Pizzocheri. Gnocchi, sauteed simply with brown butter and sage, or even occasionally stuffed with local cheeses or sausage, is also found here. Sip an espresso, eat a perfectly charred wood fired pizza, and of course indulge in the vibrantly fresh gelato that Italy is famous for!
