Resilient Region Exchange—Greater Victoria Breakfast Series Meetup

Join us for the April 2014 edition of the Resilient Region Exchange!

Building on 3 years of success, we are continuing with quarterly community breakfasts that bring together business leaders, politicians, activists, bureaucrats, and academics. The goal is to provide a space for forging new partnerships, incubating ideas, and developing projects that contribute to a resilient, healthy and green capital region.

Hosted by the Capital Regional District and our friends at the District of Saanich's Cedar Hill Golf Course, participants will enjoy hot coffee and tea, light snacks and great conversation.

Don't be late -- event starts at 8am sharp. As always, we will have time for introductions, success stories, project profiles and targeted networking. Travel by bike, foot, bus or vehicle -- pay parking is in effect.

Don't forget to RSVP!

Would love to go, the number 8 Bus goes from interurban down gorge near my house and right by cedar hill on its way to oak bay but an 8 am appointment at all fun rock quarry rules it out.

Thank you for letting us know Laura and Thomas! You will be missed greatly, but you are right, the Salish Sea is absolutely amazingly beautiful, and I think we should all be grateful we can live in such a spacious lush environment. I will be there tomorrow, and I look forward to meeting everyone!

Sorry to miss this time around. We are out sailing the beautiful Salish Sea! Don't we live in one of the most beautiful places on this amazing earth!?

So sorry that I will miss this event. Am skippering a sailing cruise (http://sailshare.ca) and will be out on the water Friday. Laura and I are also excited to announce that we will be hosting urban farming retreats this summer. (http://kandf.ca/urbanoasis)

Looking forward to this next meeting! although not as active-transportation friendly a location as other venues have been. We might just bike in from Sidney instead of busing it! ;-)

It's pretty easy if you just load up your bike onto the 72 and come most of the way into town. Then you could get off perhaps in Royal Oak area and enjoy the Lochside trail down for a long ride... or you can take the bus all the way down to Finlayson and it's just a short walk/ride up to the course :)

    • Laura P.

Thanks Lise, but I meant it from a stand point of encouraging non-car free people to travel there by other means than by their cars... make it easier for them to take alternative transportation to these events :-)
We have been car free for 14 years and love it! and I was debating about just biking the whole way or putting our bikes on the bus for part of the way. Always great to lead by example :-)

Yes, we're looking forward to being a part of 'Changing Gears'! BCSEA is putting a lot of work in to it Thomas and I are presenting: 'How you get there from here: On the Road to Sustainability'. See you there!

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
