SharePoint, Federated Identity, Token Auth… Oh my!

Target Audience: IT Pros, Infrastructure Engineers, Architects, Technical Managers, Business Managers, Developers

IT shops are stretched thin as we hear the catch phase, “More with less…” far more often than not these days. In as much, with the added information security controls that we have to put in place, and requirements to collaborate with partner organizations managing user’s identity is one extra thing that IT Pros end up having to maintain. And keeping up with the partner organizations IT shops to make sure that the right users have the right access to the right things? It’s a nightmare. But it doesn’t always have to be that way…

At Reston SPUG, Jason Fertig will be breaking down the walls and discussing what it means to use federated identities where other organizations still remain authoritative for their user’s access and authentication. Jason will dive deep into what it means to authenticate with a Token, how it impact’s the end user, what it means to ask your IT shop to setup AD FS v2, and how you can manage multiple authentication providers.

Without a doubt, a fun time shall be had by all.
