Case Study & Tech Review: Lessons Learned from a Complex, Customized Migration

Come join us as Matthew J. Bailey joins us to present a case study and technical review from lessons learned from a customized, complex SharePoint migration.

A real life scenario of moving a highly customized 3 farm SharePoint internet/extranet to a new hosting provider. In this session, we will walk through the trials and tribulations of evaluating hosting providers, getting management on board and the highly technical rebuilding of heavily programmed SharePoint farms with AD trusts, FBA and custom solutions at a new hosting provider. Of course, no project review would be complete without adding the personality challenges and technical difficulties we experienced along the way. In addition to a successful project completion, learn how we also saved money, improved fault tolerance and increased availability for the system.

Matthew J. Bailey is a SharePoint Business Analyst, Technical Manager, Administrator & Developer working with SharePoint. His current position is at JDSU where he manages the public SharePoint based website in over 18 languages. Matthew has a very broad range of SharePoint skills learned from different perspectives. He often blogs and speaks about SharePoint. He also enjoys attending user groups and SharePoint events.
