Integration Services is a great development environment for ETL developers. However, if you are new to ETL tools, there are so many tasks, objects and properties that can be used to design a solution.

Where do you start?

The purpose of this talk is to introduce simplistic design patterns to perform common tasks.

I will be talking about five real world examples and exploring the design choices to solve each one.

Biography:

John is a SQL Server MVP 2015 award recipient and local Rhode Island resident.

He has twenty-five years of data processing and proven project management experience, specializing in the banking, health care, manufacturing and government areas. His architecture expertise encompasses all phases of the project life cycle, including design, development, implementation, and maintenance of systems.

His credentials include a Master’s degree in Computer Science from the University of Rhode Island with concentrations in database

technologies and programming languages. He also has Microsoft Certificates in Database Administration and Windows System Administration.

John is currently a Senior Platform Engineer at Atrion Networking Corporation providing Database and Business Intelligence solutions to local companies.

When he is not busy informing the members of current events at a local PASS chapter, he spends time with his wife and daughter enjoying outdoor activities.
