RHoK - Global Random Hack of Kindness - Brisbane - May 2014

Random Hacks of Kindness is a joint effort founded by Google, Yahoo!, Microsoft, NASA and The World Bank, dedicated to bringing software developers together to respond to challenges facing humanity in the area of natural disaster risk.

RHoK is now a global initiative encompassing a community of over 5,500 innovators in over 30 countries making the world a better place by developing practical, open source technology solutions to respond to some of the most complex challenges facing humanity.

It brings hackers together with expertise in things like bushfire response, climate change and other natural disasters. The aim is to spend a weekend building practical, open source solutions to real world problems.

WHAT: Get stuck in with a team for one weekend in May/June and help solve a social problem using technology. Hack and create something for the good of humanity whilst having fun, learning and creating - no matter if you're a creator, designer, coder, marketer, thinker or just like getting involved.

THE PLAN: Cities around the world are getting together to Hack for Humanity on 31 May - 1 June. If you're in Brisbane, it would be great to see you at the RHoK Brisbane event at NetEngine, 7 Prospect Street, Fortitude Valley.

Anyone is welcome, any level of coder, designers, thinkers, creatives. As long we you are prepared to get stuck in, we'd love to have you.
