RVA MORE Scout Camp Trail Work

Details

August 14 will be the first day the camp will no longer have summer scout activities going on. We will start working at 9:00 a.m. The plan will be for one or two folks with line trimmers to clear some sections by the lake and other areas we find that will need it.

Another group will take to their bikes to ride the trail with loppers and clear the trail of debris that has fallen on the trail and smaller brush hanging over the trail. They will also report via cell phone to me of any trees that are down and we'll devise a means of designating a location of those trees. This group will also assess bridge conditions and should any bridges need work, they will report that back to me as well. I know some of the bridges need some traction wire installed but we'll have to make a list and hit that on the next work day.

Around 1 or so we'll finish up and open up for a ride - but only for those who have worked that morning - this will not be an "open" ride. Once the trail is determined to be clear, we'll start opening it for open, scheduled rides.

Please mark your calendars as we will need as much help as possible; so if you're in town and not away on vacation, come on out

This session will most definitely be sponsored by ZANFEL and, as usual - thanks go out to RVA MORE for supporting the trail. Please consider joining if you aren't already a member - your membership really counts and helps!
