2600 Meetings exist as a forum for all interested in technology to meet and talk about events in technology-land, learn, and teach. Meetings are open to anyone of any age or level of expertise.
“I'm a systems admin working on transitioning to security. I'm a regular reader of 2600 and listen to "Off the Hook" regularly. I'm looking to socialize with other geeks.”
“Hey Daniel! Good that you joined the group. I am also a programmer. Next time we meetup we can discuss how we can otherthrow Microsoft and rule the world.”
“Good to hear from you Margaret. 2600 meetings are an offshoot of the magazine 2600: The Hacker Quarterly. Most meetings have something to do with computer security, although there are people who do other neat things as well. It's pretty open environment-attendees aren't expected to be hacker gurus. There's not really an agenda with presentations or anything, although most people tend to bring their laptop.”
