How do you use (or how would you like to use) a bicycle for your transportation needs?

I ride to work and back every weekday, and everywhere else that I go by myself that is rideable distance. It works out to 50-75 miles a week on average.

What is most important to you to make your community more cycle friendly?

Empowering cyclists to know how to ride safely and confidently anywhere they need to go, regarding themselves as equal road users. Educating the public to see bicyclists on the road as normal.

What events would you like to see this meetup group promote or support?

Since I'm not from Rochester, I'll leave that up to you. (However, I like fun social rides or bike events. Some we've done here in Portland Maine: Tweed Ride, Cranksgiving, First Friday Art Rides [coinciding with the downtown's "First Friday Art Walk" event showcasing art galleries], "Blessing of the Bicycles" religious service.)

I don't actually live in Rochester, but I run a bicycle commuting Meetup where I live in Portland, Maine ("the other Portland"). Scott contacted me about my meetup here, which I will respond to. But I did grow up in Massena NY!
