May is "Zoopic Edits" Month

This will be the EDIT from Saturday's Shoot FOR Edit, and as always, we'll have fun reviewing some of the member uploads from our outing at the Zoo the Saturday before.  We've suggested several possible themes for our shots this time:  One is to find a story to tell with our pictures.  Another is to get shots to enter in the Zoo's annual calendar contest.  And finally is to get shots for a humorous composite image involving one or more animals.  Of course the new arrival in the Orangutan cage is an unexpected fourth reason!

Speaking of stories, what a perfect time for member Lou Cardinale to give us an overview of one of Lightroom's lesser-known functions:  The "SLIDESHOW" module.  We'll also spend time reviewing member uploads of  the Saturday event, along with a couple of clips featuring photographer Doublas Kirkland discussing storytelling with pictures, and possibly a brief PS composite demo if we have time.

Attendance at the Zoo shoot is NOT required for this meeting, so RSVP in any case - and why not also bring a friend who might also enjoy being a member of RPEG?

Always fascinating to see the images from our group's outings. How come I didn't see that? It also always never fails to astonish me what a wealth of information is stuffed in Steve's head - just keep sharing, it makes for more room up there ;) Great job by Lou on Lightroom's slideshow feature - who knew?

I enjoy and learn a lot when we review our photos from a recent shoot. Steve kept it to an hour, which is about the right amount when blended in with other topics.

Also for anyone interested, this is a much more detailed update that I received from Kim, Arnie's aunt.
Since your visit - Arnie had to have a 2nd chest tube put in because his other lung collapsed. So he has two chest tubes in draining fluid from his lungs. He is still on the ventilator and is still pretty medicated. So he is still unable to communicate. Arnie is still running a slight fever and his blood pressure is high. The hospital called us last night to get some questions answered to do an MRI. When I called the hospital this afternoon - they did not yet do the MRI and they might have it done tonight. They are considering the MRI because they have not been able to take Arnie off of the ventilator and they want to take his neck brace off. But they want to make sure that there is no damage to the tissue or ligaments in the neck. The CT Scans they have done - don't show those kinds of things, but an MRI would.
So he is not really worse, but is not progressing
