Painting with Light - Outdoor Landscapes - Creative Techniques Workshop

Details
In a new series of workshops - Creative Techniques - Bob will be giving training on Painting with Light. This fun technique can be applied in the studio or outdoors

This workshop, held at the Van Hoosen Farm in Rochester Hills, will cover the equipment and techniques for outdoor light painting. The group will be learning how to create interesting photographs using Light Painting techniques. In the dark, using a long exposure, the area is painted with a variety of light sources to create a unique image.
We aren't meeting until 8pm because conditions won't be appropriate until approximately 30 minutes after sunset and beyond. Sunsets at 8:32pm on the 17th, so that should provide sufficient time to explain the technique and get everyone into position.

Ideally this is best done in an area with minimal or no artificial light to influence the base exposure. Once you learn this technique you will want to experiment when you are away from populated areas and have minimal light pollution.
Every exposure is unique. The manner in which you "paint" in the light is never same.
Required Equipment:
Camera Lens: a 18-55mm lens or something similar or slightly more telephoto should work well. Tripod (if you need to borrow a tripod contact the studio in advance). Recommended Equipment:
Bug Spray Long pants / shirt / fleece Flash Light or headlamp for walking around in the dark Bob has all the high powered lights for this workshop, but you are welcome to bring yours along if you wish to experiment with them.
