Macro Photography - Still Life

Details

“Spring will eventually take hold here in Michigan and there will be lots of wonderful flowers and other things to photograph up-close.”

The workshop will cover determining close focus limits, balancing light when shooting outdoor subjects, incorporating flash into indoor and outdoor macro images, and most importantly we will discuss compositional ideas for interesting macro photographs.

You do not need to own a macro lens for this workshop. Many lenses have the ability to focus close enough to get some nice detailed images of flowers and other small subjects. If you are not sure how close your lenses will focus bring them all along, we'll discuss how to choose the best lens for the job. If you own it, bring it! Lenses, tripod, flash, reflector, etc.

Bob will bring along a variety of items to photograph up close. Feel free to bring along some items as well. We only ask that you not bring anything that could potentially spill or stain.

It will be staying light out later by the time of this workshop. If the weather cooperates we will start outside with some lighting tutorials before it gets too dark.
