What we’re about
Rochester Writers serves new, working, and published writers. We host writing groups, conferences, and workshops in Michigan. The network includes authors and novelists, journalists and reporters, poets, songwriters, and bloggers. We welcome fiction and non-fiction writers.
Rochester Writers runs the Freelance Marketplace Writers' Group. It meets on the third Tuesday of the month on Zoom at 7:30 p.m. to Discuss the Business of Writing.
Our signature Fall event is the Rochester Writers' Conference in October at Oakland University, in the heart of Southeast Michigan. The conference attracts attendees from several states and Canada. This is a general writers' conference with workshops, lectures, and panel discussions for fiction, non-fiction, and business concepts.
With a diverse community of speakers, Rochester Writers hosts special workshops and events at a variety of venues, such as public libraries, in the surrounding area. This includes our annual Rochester Author Fair held on Shop Small Saturday (Thanksgiving weekend) at the Rochester Hills Public Library.
Professional development presentations are available on request.
Rochester Writers also hosts a writing contest throughout the year. A nominal fee to enter with prizes and recognition. Several categories to choose from.
If you're an author, freelance journalist, blogger, poet, songwriter, etc. and you want to tune your craft, promote your talent, and sell your work, please join us for one of our many events. Please visit our website for more details: http://www.RochesterWriters.com
