What we’re about
Rochester Sketch (http://www.meetup.com/RochesterSketchers/) is a group for people who want to work in their sketchbooks together and share the books that they already have going.
When we draw an idea, as whimsical and insignificant as it might seem, it becomes forever captured as a sacred note in a protected book. There is something strangely significant about this insignificant act. After many days, many weeks, months, and years, you have a journal of insignificance or significance to some and not to others which can be discovered and shared.
I think that people who keep sketchbooks or want to keep sketchbooks are interesting and I want to meet them and discover their books and share my books with them as well.
This group is for people who like to draw, sketch, or doodle.
If you draw from life, your imagination, or just like to cover page after page in squiggles and spirals, you should join this group. We welcome anyone who likes to draw or keeps a working sketchbook for any reason.
Any skill level is welcome in this group. Any medium (reasonable with regards to the meetup location)...and any subject matter is welcome!

Rochester sketch artist and figure drawing model Mia has been organizing a Monday night figure drawing session at Flower City Studios. This is close to where Steve Carpenter's Monday night figure drawing sessions used to be held, and parking can be found on Anderson Avenue and the side streets. Participants will be required to have been vaccinated for Covid and wear a mask.
The studio can handle up to 30 artists taking into account 6 feet of social distancing.
We have some great news to announce! Courtesy of Rochester Art Club, we now have 9 extra work stations in the form of a drawing horse which can be used with drawing boards we provide! Also new lighting has been installed and it is great! And lastly on updates, we are starting a library of drawing & painting books to browse thru while attending on Mondays! Please feel free to contribute a book you think might be helpful to other artists.

Cost:
$6/Hr ($18 for the whole night)
$5/Hr Paid in Advance ($15 for the whole night)
$5/Session Student Rate with a Valid ID.Paid in Advance Savings Punch cards can be purchased in advance/at the door
and also be used the same night.
$45 (which covers 3 full sessions) or $75 (which covers 5 full sessions)
Punch Cards can also be used on an hourly basis.4 ways to pay:
